FAQ's

Who are the Big Lake Area Jaycees?

The Big Lake Area Jaycees is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization comprised of men and women between the ages of 18 and 41 in the Big Lake Area of Minnesota (USA).  We are part of a larger organization, the Minnesota Jaycees, which is a part of the US Jaycees.  The term Jaycee is short for Junior Chamber of Commerce.

What's the purpose of the Big Lake Area Jaycees?

We promote leadership training and the development of personal skills for our members through community involvement.  Jaycee members develop new skills and enhance existing ones by becoming involved with our many projects.  By becoming involved in organizing projects for the community, members have the opportunity to realize hands-on experience that will ultimately sharpen one's leadership and management skills.

What kind of projects do the Big Lake Area Jaycees do?

We currently have been involved in the Rocking Rogers days, the Sherburne County Fair and the Big Lake Festival.  We also have run community projects like school supply collections for the school district, ID college and various youth sporting events sanctioned by the Jaycees.

How much time is involved?

The Jaycees is completely voluntary, so you can commit as much time as you want, or are able.  Therefore, the Jaycees revolves around your schedule.  And remember, most of all, the Jaycees keep everything fun!
